Fog Hill of Five Elements is an original work written and directed by Lin Hun at Samsara Animation Studio (Liudao Wuyu), co-produced with Nice Boat Animation and streamed exclusively on bilibili. Made by a deliberately small team, it releases slowly: season 1's three episodes aired in summer 2020, and the four episode second season, the Xichuan arc, followed in summer 2023. The series drew wide attention for its ink wash influenced art and hand drawn action sequences, with Lin Hun also handling script, art direction, and theme music. A third season of about four episodes is in production but had no announced premiere date as of mid 2026, and no official international streaming release has been confirmed.
