Hangzhou studio Sparkly Key Animation (Xuanji Technology), the maker of Soul Land, produces this adaptation of I Eat Tomatoes' sci-fi cultivation novel for Tencent Video under chief director Shen Leping, and the UK's Axis Studios co-produced the first season. The show premiered in late 2020, and its first three seasons covered the novel's Earth arc across 85 episodes. The Cosmos arc began on October 3, 2023 and moved the series to a near-continuous weekly schedule marketed as annual seasons, including a 52-episode sixth season spanning 2025 and a seventh season that started February 3, 2026 and updates on Tuesdays. About 230 episodes had aired by mid 2026. A film-length special, Xueluo Continent, extends the franchise, and official English-subtitled episodes are on WeTV and Tencent Video's YouTube channel.
