The King's Avatar adapts Butterfly Blue's esports novel about the fictional MMO Glory. Season 1 (12 episodes) premiered on Tencent Video in April 2017, animated by G.CMay Animation & Film under director Xiong Ke, and three special episodes followed in 2018. Colored Pencil Animation took over for season 2 (2020, 12 episodes) and season 3, which ran from May to September 2024 with 17 episodes. Crunchyroll added the first two seasons with English subtitles in February 2025. A fourth season has been announced with a planned 2026 premiere, continuing Team Xingxin's run through the Glory pro circuit, so the adaptation remains active nearly a decade after its debut.
