After their bodies are destroyed in the heavenly tribulation, Nezha and Ao Bing survive only as souls, and the immortal Taiyi Zhenren races to rebuild them from a seven-colored lotus. It became the first animated film to pass $2 billion worldwide and stood at about $2.27 billion as of mid-2026, making it the highest-grossing animated film and the highest-grossing non-English-language film of all time, and one of the five highest-grossing films overall. Its China gross set the record for the largest total ever earned in a single market, passing the domestic run of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. After an initial subtitled overseas rollout, A24 released an English-dubbed version in North America on August 22, 2025, with Michelle Yeoh voicing Lady Yin.
